EDET 722: Learning management systems for research
A narrated module to help researchers make informed technology decisions.
I built this module in Articulate Storyline for EDET 722 at the University of South Carolina in fall 2020. It’s for researchers deciding whether a learning management system (LMS) is the right tool for delivering a study’s content to participants. It covers:
- What an LMS is, and how it compares with a custom website for research
- Interactive and static resources
- Quizzes and surveys
- Tracking participant activity: activity reports, system logs, grade reports and completion reports
- Major cost considerations, including pricing models and open-source options
Each section ends with a short review, and the module ends with a posttest.
The module is narrated and takes about 17 minutes. Turn your sound on.
